Another month gone by in a flash! Time really does fly when there’s so much fundraising action going on.
Our supporters from all ends of the North and the Isle of Man have been busy making a difference – helping to save lives and setting the tone for a lively spring ahead.
Let’s rewind and look at March’s best bits…
Any excuse for a party
It’s safe to say the team at the Masons Arms in Long Marton know how to throw a party!
Not only did they celebrate in style, but they also turned their birthday bash, New Year’s party, and quiz night into an opportunity to give back – raising an impressive £655 for our charity… what a generous bunch of visitors they must have.
And as luck would have it, their visit coincided with the Pride of Cumbria II undergoing an oil tank replacement, giving them a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of our aircraft.
Heading overseas
Now, over to the Isle of Man, where we had the pleasure of catching up with an incredible group of people who organised not one, but two hugely successful tractor runs last December.
Together, the Isle of Man Young Farmers raised an astonishing £9,400 each for our charity and a local Isle of Man charity.
We’re so grateful for their support and can’t wait to see how the community’s generosity continues to grow.
Celebrating 200 years
Now that’s a milestone worth celebrating! And the wonderful team at Appleby’s H. Pigney & Son did just that to mark their company’s birthday.
In March, they visited our Langwathby base with an incredibly generous £740 donation.
We’re so grateful they chose to support our life-saving service on their special anniversary – it truly means the world to us.
And hey, we hope their longevity rubs off on us, too!
Do the locomotion
We recently met Jim, the landlord of The Locomotion pub in Eaglescliffe, for a special cheque presentation after last year’s five or 10-mile charity run raised an amazing £1,000 for our life-saving service.
And that’s not all he has up his sleeve, he’ll also be supporting us at the Stephenson’s Stockton to Darlington passenger train journey this year.
No time for re-take!
Michelle, Glyn, and Louise from Keswick Athletics Club visited to present us with a generous £1,000 donation, and just as everyone struck their best smiles, the radio crackled to life – a call-out mid-photo!
On the bright side, they got to witness the Pride of Cumbria II take off in action – a fitting reminder of how their support helps us save lives.
Thanks for stopping by guys! All of your support is truly appreciated.
Half a century
We had the pleasure of hosting a talk and presentation at the Vulcan Lodge in Consett, where we were honored to receive a £1,000 donation from their Brethren.
The generous contribution was made in celebration of one of their members marking an incredible 50 years with the lodge – a truly special milestone.
Happy birthday to the lovely lot at Vulcan Lodge, thank you for thinking of us during your celebrations!
Tractor runs are in this season
The lovely lot at Egremont Young Farmers Club came along to our base to celebrate their efforts at a tractor run they hosted last year.
And although our heli was out on a call when they arrived, the club was thrilled to watch it return to base… our team do like to make a dramatic entrance at times!
And that’s a wrap, folks! Keep an eye out for next month’s fundraising heroes – we can guarantee there will be plenty more to satisfy your appetite for fundraising ideas.
